It’s no secret that the Sunshine Coast is one of the most beautiful parts of Australia. Our stunning beaches are back-dropped by rolling mountains, and every town is sprinkled with incredible cafes and bars where you can enjoy delicious local produce and live emerging talent. To help you enjoy the best of what both Horizon Festival and the Sunshine Coast has to offer, we’ve put together a curated itinerary for Caloundra. Grab your friends or family and set off for the day to explore your own backyard!
9am: Kick off your morning with a delicous Guru coffee and brekky pie from a Horizon favourite, The Pocket Espresso Bar in Moffat Beach. If the views across the stunning beach aren't enough, the friendly vibe and awesome decor might even keep you hanging around for a second coffee.
10:30am: If you're feeling energetic, or maybe just over-caffeinated, put on your walking shoes and head off on the Caloundra Coastal Walk. Taking you all the way to Bulcock Beach via Shelly Beach, Kings Beach and Happy Valley, this is the perfect way to see the best of Caloundra; with plenty of spots for swims, coffee or snacks along the way.
12pm: You'll be well and truly ready for a bite to eat after your walk, so head straight to Raw + Rice for a delicious poke bowl.
12:30pm: After lunch, make your way to the Caloundra Regional Gallery to check out the Sunshine Coast Art Prize exhibition. The Sunshine Coast Art Prize is one of the most dynamic and prestigious visual arts awards in Australia. The diverse range of works by established and emerging artists from across the country will be showcased in an exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 25 July-15 September. The 2019 art prize finalists exhibition will be a reflection of outstanding contemporary 2D arts practice in Australia.
3pm: Once you've had some time to rest, make your way to Kings Beach and Coffee Cat or Kings Beach Bar to wind down your day with a drink and some local live music.
