Weekend One: Meet the Live + Local Artists

Wind down your weekend in the ideal way by settling in for a unique Sunday sesh, with a local touch. With six local musicians performing, a selection of microbreweries serving tasty local brews and delicious locally grown produce, Live & Local Sundays is the perfect way to stretch out your weekend a little longer. Get to know the artists who are performing the first weekend of Horizon.. 

Sunday 25th August
12pm – 12:30pm: The Yammz
The Yammz are an Australian surf and garage rock quartet from Peregian Beach, who combine elements from several rock genres in their music, ranging from classic rock to modern surf rock. Their line-up consists of Tom Moffat on Vocals and Guitar, Sasha Hobson on Lead Guitar, Aidan Muras on Bass, and Eli Piggott on Drums.

 

12:45pm – 1:15pm: Anna & Jordan
Anna & Jordan are an indie/folk/pop duo whose music has been described as the “epitome of original folk,” taking inspiration from the history of traditional folk music and bringing it into new light that can be appreciate by a modern audience.

 

1:30pm – 2:15pm: The Dreggs
The Dreggs are an acoustic Indi-Folk duo made up of Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris. Having grown up on the coast, their music is heavily influenced by the ocean, and where they come from. With two acoustic guitars, a stomp creating a driving beat, you will be hooked after their first song.

 

2:30pm – 3:15pm: Alfanant
Ant McKenna and Alf are the Alt-Folk Country Samaritans bringing fun, awesome tunes and mayhem to venues throughout the land.

 

3:30pm – 4:30pm: Andrea Kirwin
Andrea Kirwin is a singer/songwriter whose music is an earthy blend of folk, funk, roots, reggae and soul with an island style roll. With Australian-Fijian heritage, Andrea's brand of songs are uplifting, positive and beautifully crafted. With her band, she creates music that is truly gorgeous and a pleasure to experience. Andrea has been songwriting since picking up the guitar at age 21 and has spent over 10 years travelling and performing around Australia.

 

4:45pm – 6pm: Bearfoot
Blending So-Cal, Hip Hop and dub reggae, with a dash of the Endless Summer soundtrack thrown in, Bearfoot’s sunsoaked-yet-dark take on roots, reggae & dub has sent ripples through the country, and even over the ditch.
