Weekend Two: Meet the Live + Local Artists

Wind down your weekend in the ideal way by settling in for a unique Sunday sesh, with a local touch. With six local musicians performing, a selection of microbreweries serving tasty local brews and delicious locally grown produce, Live & Local Sundays is the perfect way to stretch out your weekend a little longer. Get to know the artists who are performing the first weekend of Horizon.. 

Sunday 1st September
12pm – 12:30pm: Deline Briscose
Yalanji Songwoman, Deline Briscoe’s live vocal delivery has the ability to change the weather. Interweaving Wungabadi (yalanji song) with jazz, hip-hop, soul infusion.

 

 

12:45pm – 1:15pm: Karrie Hayward
When you blend the rich, soulful vocal tones with the vibrant, percussive timbre of a guitar, you get Karrie Hayward - a pop infused, indie-edge, kaleidoscope of melodic colours.

 

1:30pm – 2:15pm: The Dennis Sisters
Indie-folk sister duo, The Dennis Sisters, Tiana (guitar) and Briannah (bass) began writing in their early teens, after a long period of chronic illness which prevented them attending school. Each contributes to song-writing and lead vocals, blend harmonies the way only siblings can, with Folk/Pop flair and engaging, authentic performances.

 

2:30pm – 3:15pm: Emma Beau
Emma Beau is a multi-instrumentalist who brings the stage alive with her unique voice and self penned songs. Having toured instrumentally for 10 years with the likes of Kasey Chambers, Jon English, Mind Over Matter and more, Emma now brings her own distinctive talent to light on her own stages around the globe.

 

3:30pm – 4:30pm: Ayla
Indie-pop songstress AYLA has been heard on triple j since 2015, sharing heartfelt lyrics and catchy pop hooks.

 

4:45pm – 6pm: Band of Frequencies
One of Australia's premier jam bands & true believers in sounds beyond boundaries, Band of Frequencies draw their influences from a vast spectrum of blues, roots, rock, funk and psychedelic styles. Their signature blend comes from years of live experimentation, constantly pushing their influences into the creative fires to see what melts, what explodes and what merges.
