There’s plenty of free events on offer too, check out 10 things you can do for free during Horizon here. Our program is packed full of family-friendly activities for the perfect family day out.

If you’re looking to get creative, there are a number of great workshops you can participate in. Check out our Learn at the Gardens program, including mass life drawing and a kite-making workshop. There’s also a Fantastic Creatures workshop being held at the Caloundra Regional Gallery; Sydney-based artist Gerwyn Davies will lead you through the construction of a fantastic costumed creature before acting out your creation for your own photographic portrait. While you’re there, check out the Sunshine Coast Art Prize exhibition, one of the most dynamic and prestigious visual arts awards in Australia.

It’s no secret that the Sunshine Coast is one of the most beautiful parts of Australia. Our stunning beaches are back-dropped by rolling mountains, and every town is sprinkled with incredible cafes and bars where you can enjoy delicious local produce and live emerging talent. To help you enjoy the best of what both Horizon Festival and the Sunshine Coast has to offer, we’ve put together curated itineraries for one of our Festival hubs; Maroochydore, Nambour, Caloundra and the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens. Grab your friends or family and set off for the day to explore!
